Cholko Campaign Targets Korean Voters

Annandale, VA, October 22, 2009 - The Matt Cholko for Delegate campaign has been targeting the 39th district's Korean community by distributing Korean-language campaign materials and placing Korean-language signs throughout Annandale.

“The Korean community here in my district is huge-- and they're influential. Plus, I think that if they are exposed to it, they will really relate to the libertarian message,” said Matt Cholko, candidate for Delegate in VA's 39th district.

The campaign's efforts have not gone unnoticed. Last week, The Korea Times, one of the DC area's largest Korean-language newspaper, ran a front-page story about their community's growing influence in local politics and pointed to the Cholko campaign as evidence. The Korean-language signs were pictured on the publication's front page.

“All of my positions are very small-business friendly. Many of the Korean residents of my district are business owners. I also know that the Korean community takes education very seriously. So, I think they will really like what I have to say on education and giving families more choice when it comes to their children's schooling,” said Cholko.
